The magician begins by mixing the cards and then separating them into red and black piles, each containing 5 cards. A prediction card with the phrase ‘Will Our Minds Merge’ is displayed. The spectator is then asked to choose a pile to spell out the words, starting with ‘Will’. For each letter in ‘Will’, a card is taken from the chosen pile and placed at the bottom. This process continues through ‘O U R’, ‘M I N D S’, and ‘M E R G E’, with the magician setting aside the top two cards from each pile after each word is completed.
