Step back in time with The New Conjurors’ Magazine, a legendary publication that began its journey in the early 20th century. Originally known as The New Conjurors’ Magazine, it dropped the word “New” after its first issue, quickly establishing itself as a cornerstone in the magic community. This historical gem was launched with the help of Hardeen, Houdini’s brother, before his untimely passing. It was proudly selected as the official organ for the Magician’s Guild of America, cementing its place in magical history.
In 1947, the magazine underwent a significant transition, with Ed Dart taking the helm (Volume 4, #10) and Robert Lund as editor. Despite these changes, the magazine retained its essence, with Gibson continuing as a prominent columnist. The legacy of The Conjurors’ Magazine evolved further when it was absorbed by Genii magazine in November 1949, becoming Genii, The Conjurors’ Magazine. This marked the beginning of a new chapter, as it later became Genii The International Conjurors’ Magazine in May 1974. The magazine’s journey continued under the stewardship of Richard Kaufman starting January 1999, who initially renamed it to simply Genii before reverting to Genii, The Conjurors’ Magazine in July 1999.

- Rich Content: Featuring articles, columns, and insights from the world of magic.
- Iconic Collaboration: Originally supported by Hardeen, Houdini’s brother, and later by prominent figures in the magic community.

First advertised as The New Conjurors’ Magazine and dropped the word “New” after Vol 1, No. 1. Houdini’s brother, Hardeen, helped get this magazine launched, but he passed away shortly after the magazine started. It was selected as the official organ for the Magician’s Guild of America. It eventually changed hands to Ed Dart in 1947 (Volume 4, #10), with Robert Lund as editor (Gibson still continued as a columnist).
Genii magazine absorbed The Conjurors’ Magazine and from November, 1949 until 1974 as Genii became Genii, The Conjurors’ Magazine. It was eventually changed to Genii The International Conjurors’ Magazine with the May 1974 issue. It stayed that way until Richard Kaufman took over the magazine on January 1999. He changed it to just Genii then reverted back to Genii, The Conjurors’ Magazine with the July 1999 issue.
