Trent James presents a collection of 6 of his stand up magic routines that he uses in his current repertoire. Trent has traveled the world performing on colleges campuses, theaters, and cruise ships. For the first time, Trent is sharing his updated classics with you. He will also give tips on traveling with a props, organization, and show flow.

“When I started performing professionally, I quickly learned you must be flexible to be successful. No two shows are the same. Your setup, angles, and tricks must be adaptable to fit the situation. The following routines have saved me a handful of times, as they can play onstage or up close and will engage adult and family audiences alike. On top of being flexible, most of the tricks are solo pieces, which tend to be rare, but ideal to build a solid show.” – Trent James

 

The Routines:

 

Close-Up Color Changing Silk – An opener that Trent will often do walkaround. However, it also plays on a stage to a hundred people.

 

Cut and Restored Rope – This is a practical touch up to a classic cut and restored rope. One of the small problems with cut and restored rope is that your rope slowly loses length. The main idea here is simply to to have one rope that lasts forever.

 

Ring on Rope – A beautiful sequence that can be added to your current ring and rope magic.  Trent does a fun ring and rope routine using a silver linking ring and then ends with this stunning sequence.

 

Root Beer Float – A  really fun routine that is a unique take on and inspired by the old favorite, Silk to Egg.

 

The Shrinking Card – A handling of the shrinking deck plot that was developed after seeing Curtis Kam’s version during a lecture. The original shrinking fan was traditionally a stage bit, but this routine s designed for walk around settings, including giving away a shrunken card as a souvenir.

 

The Next, Spot Card – An update to the classic trick, What’s Next?, this item is destined to become a future standard in magic. Watching this looks like CG special effects.
