Matsuyama's work consistently brings to light unique cultural contributions and historical developments in a region often less documented in Western magic literature. Furthermore, magic historians will rejoice at the inclusion of a newly discovered and possibly unique 19th-century French pamphlet by Antoine Castelli, titled 'Amusemens physiques.'
