Now, you have the opportunity to learn the exact secrets behind this award-winning, audience-pleasing masterpiece.
The Revolutionary Two-Cup Advantage
What sets "Das Goldene Becherspiel" apart is Williamson's brilliant decision to utilize only two cups. This isn't merely a simplification; it's a profound enhancement to the classic Cups and Balls plot. Williamson articulates three compelling reasons for this choice: firstly, the two-cup symmetry creates a more elegant and less confusing visual narrative, deepening audience engagement. Secondly, it's incredibly practical for space-constrained environments like restaurant tabletops. And, as Williamson humorously admits, it also solves the perennial magician's dilemma of a lost third cup! This innovative approach ensures a clearer, more impactful routine that feels both classic and refreshingly modern.
Exquisite Instruction, Unforgettable Performance
Learning this routine is an absolute pleasure, thanks to the stunning and clear illustrations provided by the exceptionally talented Disney artist and rogue coin manipulator, Greg Manwaring. These high-quality visuals, originally intended for a comprehensive book by Michael Ammar, ensure that every nuance and subtle move is meticulously detailed and easy to follow. Williamson, with a touch of his characteristic wit, acknowledges the kind contributions of both Manwaring and Ammar, allowing him to finally share this incredible routine with the wider magic community. "Das Goldene Becherspiel" offers you the chance to add a truly magical, deeply engaging, and thoroughly professional routine to your repertoire, ready to captivate any audience.
Original Specs
I've been performing the following routine for over ten years in restaurants, private parties and trade shows. After thousands of performances I can assure you that it is completely audience-tested. It was the finale to my competition act in 1981 for which I received the International Brotherhood of Magicians' first place close-up trophy as well as the newly established Gold Cups Award.
My routine uses only two cups for three important reasons: First, I believe that two cups make the trick more interesting because a symmetry of action is created which lessens the confusion that three cups can create. Secondly, two cups take up less space on a restaurant table top. And most importantly, I lost my third cup a long time ago.
The beautiful illustrations were done by that talented Disney artist and rogue coin manipulator Greg Manwaring. They were kindly supplied by Michael Ammar who was going to include this routine in a book about the cups which got placed on one of his many back burners several years ago. So thanks to those fellers I can offer this routine to you and finally start making some BIG BUCKS.
